The police had arrested her boyfriend over the murder of the singer but justice is yet to be realised by the kin of the deceased.

Cherono, alias Sweet Lady, died after she was hit by a blunt object on the head following an altercation with her boyfriend.

According to the neighbors, Cherono and her boyfriend, who was a prison warder at Bomet GK prison at the time of the incident, were not in good terms during their stay at the Kamukunji estate in Bomet town before hell broke loose one night leading to the killing of the singer.

The suspect in the murder case is still being held at the Bomet Police Station as detectives dig deeper into the matter.

According to Bomet Central sub-county police commander Musa Omari, police have stepped up their efforts in the probe into the matter after the family raised concern over the manner in which the process is being conducted.

Omari said that the deceased had been rushed to the Longisa County hospital but  she didn’t survive after the attack from the alleged boyfriend.

He also said that the deceased was found while bleeding from the ears. The father of the deceased, Joseph Mosonik, has asked the police to fasten the probe into the matter.

He also said that the family was not aware that the man had been staying with their daughter until the day they learned about her death.

“If they were cohabiting with my daughter we were not aware as a family and that does not justify the murder,” he said.
