Nominated MP Maina Kamanda has taken a dig at allies of Deputy President William Ruto after they made an about-turn, and decided to participate in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) sensitization meetings.
Kamanda laughed at them saying they got 'shaken' after ODM leader Raila Odinga led two successful rallies in Kisii and Kakamega counties, which attracted huge crowds and were attended by many leaders across the country.
He said politicians in the DP camp realised if the Raila-led team continues with the rallies, their political star will be dimmed and become unpopular among voters.
"They have realised that if we tour the whole country without them, they will be finished on the ground. They have panicked. Our last two meetings have made them to panic. But we welcome them for the BBI meetings in future,” Kamanda said, as quoted by the Nation.
Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has confirmed that his group will attend BBI's third regional meeting which will be held in Mombasa on Saturday.
In a tweet on Wednesday, he said the function will not be about succession politics but will be on a discussion to make Kenya a united and prosperous nation.
"I would like to welcome all leaders to the BBI meeting in Mombasa this Saturday. We shall be focusing on the unity and development of this country and not sideshows about 2022 and discussing individuals. Karibuni Pwani!" Murkomen tweeted.
