During counting of 2017 presidential polls counting at Bomas of Kenya, NASA Chief Executive Norman Magaya may have stood out as one of fiercest defenders of Mr Odinga.

Backed by Deputy Treasurer Ogla Karani, the two caused havoc, daring Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission team for three consecutive days.

One of the evening, the two questioned the presence of President Uhuru Kenyatta's private secretary Jomo Gecaga in the counting room, causing a standstill for several hours.

Ms Karani said: “We are feeling intimidated by the presence of Jomo.”

She and other members of the team told Mr Chiloba: “This is not an IEBC process so let us do our work.”

Minutes later, the renowned lawyer collapsed and was rushed to Nairobi Hospital. After treatment, it did not just end there, he was part of legal team that prepared evidence for Supreme Court petition.

But things would never be the same again for Magaya. Jubilee MPs rejected his name for EALA nominations. They accused him of being a radical.

Although he would later get appointment to Films and Classification Board, Magaya has been dealing with health challenges. He was admitted to Nairobi Hospital following a heart attack.

Recently, he took to the social media to decry his dwindling finances, arguing that the condition had completely drained him financially.

"Nothing puts your life on a freeze like a heart attack ! Complete lifestyle change ! Your medical insurance cover becomes a big joke! Your finances get completely messed up. I have learnt tough lessons. But hey am a son of God ! I will overcome," he said.
