Former Narok County commissioner George Natembeya has handed over office to the new commissioner Samuel Kimiti.
Speaking Saturday before he embarks on his new assignment, Mr Natembeya assured Mr Kimiti of the diligence of the support staff whom he said would work closely with new commissioner.
"The people are very cooperative and we've got very senior and responsible government officials who are going to work very closely with you. The national administrative officer, the security team and other government agencies, " Natembeya assured.
Mr George Natembeya is set to take on his new assignment as the Rift Valley Regional Commissioner.
He said that his focus would on the North Rift that he said is ravaged by brutality, theft and conflict.
Engaging the leadership of the North Rift would be part of his approach in pacifying the region, he said.
"We want to focus on the North Rift for now because they have very serious issues there. People are killing each other there, people are stealing livestock and basically life there is very short and very brutish as they say.
"We need to reverse that so that every Kenyan feels that they belong to this republic and that the government is capable of securing their lives and their property, " he said.
