Deputy President William Ruto is on Wednesday expected to join other leaders to visit Kerio Valley in a bid to bring lasting peace after prolonged insecurity.
Through their official Facebook pages, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen announced that there would be a peace caravan in Kerio Valley today.
Sudi noted that the meeting is poised to bring together all leaders hailing from the region and coming from different political parties to seek truce for the warring communities living in and around the Valley.
"Welcome and join us tomorrow on 31st July 2019 on a historic Peace Caravan in Kerio Valley. The event will be at Chesogon Trading Centre where the market will be reopened after being deserted for long due to insecurity in the region. All leaders from various political divides should purpose to attend the event where Deputy President William Samoei Ruto will preside it. Let's turn out in large numbers and celebrate the fruits of PEACE," read Sudi's post.

Kerio Valley has been in the news for wrong reasons following the cattle rustling menace pitting communities living around the area.
