The group which is known as Okoa Kiambu has revealed that it will present a memorandum to root for the removal of Waititu from office for abuse of office.

It wants the removal of the county boss from office speeded.

Waititu has been locked out of office after he was linked to Sh580 million graft with his wife Susan Wangari and eight others.

Okoa Kiambu has said that it will collect 130,000 signatures needed to impeach the governor with immediate effect.

The lobby group argues that Waititu has failed the people of Kiambu.

“On Wednesday next week, we will gather at Ndumberi Stadium for a rally that is being organised by community-based organisations and later submit the signatures to the assembly for action,” said Hoswell Kinuthia, an official of Okoa Kiambu as quoted by Sunday Nation.

The group has also said that the first-term governor has been frustrating Deputy Governor James Nyoro after he was given the mandate to run the office in an acting capacity.

It also claimed that the governor has planted moles in the county assembly as well as the executive to frustrate Nyoro.

The governor has been attributing his woes to his allegiance to Deputy President William Ruto.
