A 42-year-old man who allegedly defiled a 13-year-old minor has been released on a Sh200,000 bond by a Nakuru court pending the hearing of the case.
Francis Kibe , a mason was on Monday arraigned before Chief Magistrate David Kemei where he denied committing the offence.
The court heard that on June 1, at Mirangine area within Nyandarua County the accused waylaid the minor and dragged her to a nearby bush adjacent to their home where he committed the act.
The minor was rushed to a local hospital after reporting to her parents about the ordeal where she was examined and treated.
According to the medical reports which were presented to court established that the minor was indeed defiled.
Kibe was arrested by police at his friend’s home on June 17 after a series of hideouts from the local authorities in the area. According to the prosecution side, the accused person has other fraud cases pending court and was recently released on a bond.
The accused is further accused of threatening the minor so as to cover up his crime.
The accused through his lawyer urged the court to be able to release him on a reasonable bond term since he is a bread winner for his family and was not a flight risk.
Chief Magistrate David Kemei slated the hearing for July 11.
