Nominated Migori MCA Florence Oile has lost her husband who was involved in a road accident on Sunday.

Mr Onyango Oile died on the spot after the car he was driving lost control and skidded off the road. 

The accident happened on the Uriri-Rapogi Road in Migori County and only his car was involved.

 Moreso, it was confirmed that he was alone in the vehicle when the accident happened.

He was coming from Uriri towards Rapogi. 

Confirming this incidence, Uriri Sub-county Police Commander Peter Njoroge told Citizen Digital that the cause of the accident is still unclear. 

The police moved Oile's body to the Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary, while the vehicle wreckage was towed to Uriri Police Station. 

Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the accident. 

Before his death, Oile was working as an officer at the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) at Migori. 

Road accidents have been a menace in the country with hundreds of people perishing due to careless driving, speeding, driving while drunk, using phones while driving among other causes. 

The government has on various occasion reminded drivers to be careful whenever on the roads. 

In a recent road accident report, the ministry of transport found out that most accidents take place over the weekends.
