A man who was shot 8 times in bizarre shop robbery in Nairobi’s Kasarani area was on Wednesday discharged from Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
Richard Muema was shot in November when suspected robbers turned on him as he tried to rescue a shop attendant who was being robbed.
Rapper King Kaka has through his official Twitter handle, confirmed that Mr Muema had been discharged.
The rapper was of great use when he mobilised Kenyans to contribute towards the victim's medical bill.
He said the whole medical bill has been cleared.
According to King Kaka, Muema's family is thankful to all Kenyans and welshers who helped during contributions for his medical bill.
"Some good news thanks to everyone who contributed a while back when I asked for help. Richard Muema who was shot 8 times has been discharged and bills settled. I am grateful, the family says Asante and Be blessed," King Kaka tweeted.
On a fateful day, two suspected robbers entered a shop where Muema was a shopkeeper.
The suspects, holding a gun, ordered the victim to the ground before they focused on the shopkeeper.
This gave Muema a chance to collect his courage before he launched an attack on one of the robbers, that was when he was shot eight times before the robbers managed to escape from the crime scene.
He was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital where he stayed for about three months.
