Bonchari MP John Oroo Oyioka has put it clear that the census jobs should be given to jobless youths in the constituency.
Speaking at Kerina on Friday, Oyioka was very categorical that teachers and civil servants who are chasing census jobs should not be allowed to take the jobs.
"It is sad that some people have decided to involve employed teachers and other civil servants to conduct census jobs. We have jobless youths in Bonchari who should take up the job and get some money to enrol in short courses such as driving," said the lawmaker.
Oyioka maintained that he has no hand in the awarding of civil servants and teachers the census jobs adding that he believes in youth power.
The MP insisted that he will not allow jobless youths to be left out of the census jobs while employed people and those from rich families are benefiting.
"I personally do not know how some employed people found themselves on the list for those seeking census jobs. My promise to the youths of Bonchari that I will follow up the matter and engage Kisii County commissioner Godfrey Kigochi to ensure it is only jobless youths who will conduct the census exercise," stated the MP.
