In a bid to forestall the occurrence of a tragedy, Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has ordered the closure of Bombolulu Primary School.
The order comes just days after a building at the Precious Talent School caved in killing 8 pupils and injuring dozens more.
Bombolulu Primary School was found to have buildings with structural issues that may endanger the lives of pupils who attend it.
CS Prof Magoha said the Ministry of Education would not entertain owners of schools that have buildings that do not meet the standards set by the government.
"We are not going to sympathise with people who do not obey that instruction,"he said.
Prof Magoha went on to say that he did not understand why parents were comfortable taking their children to schools where there was potential danger.
Critics of the Cabinet Secretary have disparaged the crackdown on schools as a knee-jerk reaction.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) sleuths have initiated investigations into the Precious Talents School tragedy.
Media reports indicated at the time of writing this story that the owner of the school had not yet been arrested to face charges of putting up a structure that was lacking in structural integrity.
