Undoubtedly, rejection is one of the worst parts of this rollercoaster called life. Unfortunately, most if not all of us undergo rejection every once in a while, be it in our workplaces, during that job interview or even from the ones we love.
Here are five effective ways of dealing with rejection.
1. Be ready for rejection
The worst thing you can do to yourself is to think you are too good to be turned down. If this is your kind of thinking, trust me a day will come when you'll be rejected and it will burn to the core.
To avoid such, yes be confident about yourself but don't overestimate yourself.
2. Face your emotions head-on
Avoid bottling up emotions at all costs. Granted, rejection brings with it a lot of hurt and even anger.
To avoid taking drastic and regrettable measures, acknowledge your emotions. By all means, cry it out and even rant about it. It's all allowed and it will be worth it in the end.
3. Positive vibes all the way
Don't allow rejection to make you feel less of yourself. Sure, people tend to put you down in a way when they reject you but do not allow that to tamper with your self-esteem.
Speak positively to yourself and keep going.
4. Talk to someone
Rejection, if not handled properly tends to lead to depression so instead of going through double trouble just talk to someone.
There's absolutely no shame in sharing your pain with a trusted friend or family member.
5. Learn from your rejection
Last but not least make sure your rejection phase doesn't just go away without you having learnt a lesson from it.
