Political analyst Ambrose Weda has lifted the lid on the tricks that were employed in enabling President Uhuru Kenyatta access Kisumu city in 2013.
At the time, Uhuru was in the worst terms with ODM leader Raila Odinga making the region politically hostile.
He on Wednesday said that they expected some level of hostility from youths in Kisumu but they wittily watered down this.
"When we were accompanying President Uhuru Kenyatta to Kisumu, alongside Onyango Oloo, we went prepared," he said on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation, Wednesday.
"We had our army, we knew the situation on the ground and we came prepared with our own people. We passed there in broad daylight and there was no problem," he added.
However, since the handshake in March last year, Uhuru has made several trips to Nyanza accompanied by Raila.
