A team of leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto from Kisii and Nyamira Counties seems to have taken a leave from active campaigns.

In the last two weeks, the team lost Ben Momanyi of Borabu and Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi who joined another faction led by Dr Fred Matiang'i.

On Wednesday, a meeting at Matiang'i's office which was attended by a host of MPs from the two counties resolved that they work to improve livelihoods of their people.

At various meetings on Friday, Tanga Tanga brigades led by North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko and his West Mugirango counterpart Vincent Kemosi, seemed to soften their tones.

"We met our son Dr Fred Matiang'i. He has been doing well and we have assured him our support. In all departments he has worked, we have seen some changes.

"As leaders, we pledge support to him. He was picked by the president when we formed Jubilee government with the deputy. We are hopeful that he will help us accomplish some projects," he said.

Mr Nyamoko, Kemosi and Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose have been skipping meetings organised by Matiang'i before until on Wednesday.

At Nyaisa Secondary on Friday, Kemosi on his part drifted from campaigning for Ruto, instead forced on praising his party leader Moses Wetangula who visited the region.

"We are happy to have you here. When I organised this function, I never thought people will come in large numbers like today. It's a good thing to have the party leader around," he said.

The team has been under pressure from leaders supporting Dr Fred Matiang'i in the past weeks. They are on spot with Matiang'i plotting to unite the entire community.
