Former Director of Political Affairs and Strategy in ODM Mr Wafula Buke says he has rejected several offers ever since he was sacked from ODM.
The former pluralism fighter was sacked several days ago and the Orange Democratic Movement party is yet to issue any statement regarding the decision.
In a statement, Buke said on Tuesday that a number of politicians opposing Raila Odinga have approached him for service in their formations.
One of the most baffling offer, he noted, is when one told him that he's getting old and that he needs a brand new house in Nairobi. Some offered to have him sorted immediately.
"Since I was sacked by the corrupt in ODM, I have received calls from all parties inviting me to teas. One told me "buke you are getting old, you need a home in Nairobi. My boss has told me that he will sought you out on your first meeting. Bla bla" same things we heard in the 90s by KANU men," he said.
But Mr Buke said such moves will taint his reform credentials, which he earned throughout the period after 1982 coup which saw him detained without trial
"How do you defect from a party becoz you have been sacked yet the party paid you so much money for so long? How do expect to be trusted by your new allies when you have followed a single road for decades? Where is the time to make new friends at over 50? What will be the story of my life? he asked.
For many years now, Mr Buke has worked closely with Mr Odinga, serving alongside him at Ford Kenya, NDP, LDP and now in the ODM which he helped form in 2006.
Considered as a revolutionary, Mr Buke has been at loggerheads with a section of ODM Secretariat members among them Oduor Ong'wen and Judith Pareno.
Despite his controversial dismissal, reports indicate that Mr Odinga intends to sack a number of members of the Secretariat as he prepares for 2022 polls.
