The two are scheduled to meet in October as Russian seeks to enter into trade ties with Kenya.

Business Daily reports that Russia has reportedly identified Kenya as the crucial bilateral partner in the East African trading bloc.

The meeting comes after Uhuru hosted Russia’s Senate Speaker Valentina Matviyenko at State House and Nairobi in 2018.

Putin has invited Uhuru to attend the Russia-Africa political summit scheduled for October 23 and 24, 2019 in Sochi, Russia before they meet to discuss trade relations between the countries.

The President is expected to be accompanied by several government officials as he travels to Russia to meet Putin.

Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau has confirmed the meeting of the two heads.

“Yes Kenya will be going,” Kamau told the Business Daily

Uhuru will be seeking to ink various deals with Russian investors when he lands in the country.

Some of the areas of target include space engineering, medicine and blue economy among others.

Putin is also expected to meet several African leaders to discuss how they can take their relationship to the next level.
