The full scale of the destruction caused by the vicious Hurricane Dorian emerged on Wednesday with Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minis warning of more deaths.
He said that some areas had suffered total decimation, adding that the death toll had climbed to 7.
"We can expect more deaths to be recorded. This is just preliminary information, "Prime Minister Minis told members of the press on Wednesday.
"Our priority at this time is search rescue and recovery. It will take all of us as a caring community, government, church, businesses and individuals, to help restore the lives of our people," he added.
Aerial pictures showed overturned vehicles, floods, roofs ripped off structures and debris scattered everywhere.
Parts of Bahamas was plunged into total blackout.
Lia Rigby, the owner of a local relief group said that her representatives had shared with her heart-breaking stories of decimation and more deaths.
"It's total devastation. It's decimated. Apocalyptic," Lia Rigby told the Associated Press news agency.
The United States of America has called on its citizens to vacate from areas in Hurricane Dorian's path to safer areas.
Authorities in Georgia, Florida and Carolina are on a state of high alert amid speculation that the destructive hurricane might make landfall in their states.
