Prominent lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta following the release of the much-hyped Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Uhuru received the report at the State House on Tuesday in a function that was also attended by his deputy William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Initially, there were reports that Ruto would boycott the event since he was allegedly opposed to BBI, which was formed following the March 9, 2018, handshake between Uhuru and Raila.
However, contrary to the claims, the DP showed up.
Abdullahi described the President as a political genius for managing to bring Raila and Ruto together in accepting a document that has been a cause of conflict between them.
"H.E Uhuru is a POLITICAL GENIUS...look at the way he handled the BBI...boy..o...boy..." he tweeted on Tuesday night.
Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen was first among Ruto's close allies to publicly endorse the report, despite previously having threatened to shoot it down.
"I support BBI Report because; 1. It’s Presidents own report and largely reflects the views of Jubilee 2. Doesn’t require a referendum, we’ll sort (it) in Parliament 3. Subject to further discussion and review 4. Contrary to earlier threats doesn’t amount to a Tsunami 5. Doesn’t overburden mwananchi," the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator posted.
Reacting to the remarks, Abdullahi once again lauded the President, noting it was through his efforts that the report was guaranteed to be passed.
"I think this tweet by Murkomen is a GAME CHANGER...unless ODM swings in the opposite direction the political class will be 100% United behind BBI...Give credit to H.E Uhuru..." said the Senior Counsel.
