The allies of the second in command are fighting to save Waititu while Uhuru’s team is not ready to see his efforts in the war against graft fail to bear fruits at the end of the day.

The Kieleweke and Tangatanga camps have in the past clashed bitterly over the impeachment of the county boss after he was blocked from accessing his office.

The county boss was impeached by the Kiambu County Assembly last month leaving the Senate with the final decision on the matter.

Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has claimed that there is a scheme to save the county boss’ career because of his allegiance to the DP.

He, however, said that it will not be easy because the residents of the county want nothing but justice at the court.

“There are certain people who are trying to save him because of political considerations but the Kiambu people want justice,” he said.

In the past, Waititu has claimed that his woes are politically instigated. He has also affirmed that he is not corrupt nor has he abused powers following his election.

His Deputy James Nyoro is now acting on the behalf of the beleaguered governor.

Waititu is hopeful that the Senate will save him from being ejected from office. The senate has saved several county bosses in the past including the Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja, Mwangi Wa Iria (Murang’a) and Paul Chepkwony (Kericho),
