In a video shared by Daily Nation on Sunday, Jumwa said leaders are very willing to offer in churches, but they have been facing massive backlash over corruption claims.

"What I want to tell the church is that we are leaders and I have seen Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit  here. We as leaders that you are seeing here we love giving to the Lord. I want to ask Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit that there are those who are making it hard for us. They put tough instructions to us whenever we want to give to the Lord. So I would like the church to allow us offer the little that the Lord has given unto us.

(Mimi ambacho nataka tu niseme Kanisa. Kwa hivyo mi nataka kile Mungu ametubariki nacho mtuache tupeana kwa Mungu)," she said in part.

Deputy President William Ruto and a section of his allies have been under fierce criticisms over church donations.

A section of leaders opposed to the move  have vowed to introduce a Bill capping church donations.
