Airtel Kenya announced on Thursday that its services have been restored after it experienced a technical problem that led to outage of voice and SMS services.
The company further apologized for the inconveniences caused by the outage of services which occurred on Wednesday.
“You can now make calls and send messages. We apologize for any inconvenience caused,” Airtel Kenya stated.
On Wednesday, Kenyans expressed concern over the outage of Airtel Kenya services. Kenyans on Twitter claimed that the disruption of service provision had inconvenienced them, some demanding compensation from the company.
A number of netizens pointed out that the company had taken too long to fix the technical problem.
They urged the company to put measures in place to avoid similar occurrences in future.
The outage of services for Airtel Kenya was also experienced in Uganda on October 9.
Statistics show that Airtel Kenya controls 33.3% of the voice services in the Kenyan market.
Communications Authority of Kenya further demands mobile telco companies to have a 99.99% service provision standard.
