A standard six pupil and another suspect were arrested on Thursday by police in Rarieda over theft of 16 school laptops.
Confirming the incidence, the area assistant chief David Opala Ongoro said that the 14 years old class six pupil at Wagoro Primary School in Kokwiri sub-location and a 22 years old, Gabriel Akuom, were arrested after they allegedly went into a primary school, broke into the headteacher's office and stole government laptops.
The two are said to have committed this crime on Monday night.
"We received the report from the school about the loss of the gadgets and investigation led us to the two. We recovered three of the 16 stolen laptops from the minor," said the assistant chief as quoted by Standard.
The school's headteacher Mr Walter Oyaro told the Standard on Friday that he noticed someone had broken into his office.
After inquiring on various people, the class six pupil willingly narrated the whole story and even led the school administration to where the laptops had been hidden.
"He also told us that he was working with the man who is a neighbor who was later arrested," said the headmaster as quoted by Standard.
The pupil further revealed that he accepted to help in stealing the laptops after he had been promised money.
Rarieda police boss Thomas Ototo noted that the police have launched investigation to arrest more suspects and recover other laptops since only three had been recovered.
"We have launched Investigations to recover the other gadgets and arrest more suspects involved," said the police boss as quoted by Standard.
