In what could be escalating differences between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, the Jubilee lawmaker has rated Mwai Kibaki as the best president so far.
Nyoro hailed Mr Kibaki as the best president of Kenya while wishing him a happy 88th birthday.
According to him, Mr Kibaki managed to revamp Kenya's economy after taking over from Daniel Moi in 2002.
"The best President of Kenya thus far - Economically speaking. All action, no talk. The fruits of his great planning of the economy are evident to date," he said.
"I wish he became president earlier. Most assets the common mwananchi have were acquired during his reign - economy was booming and velocity of money was high," he added.
Specifically, Nyoro hailed Kibaki for regulating public debt, which stood at Sh1.6 trillion by the time he handed over to President Uhuru in 2013.
However, since then, Uhuru has increased both domestic and external debts to Sh6 trillion, the highest ever since independence, a move that has often attracted criticism from economists.
"We love you Mr President, Mzee Mwai Kibaki. Wishing you a happy birthday and many more years. We are African and Africa is our Business," he added.
Nyoro has been at loggerheads with the State, a move that led to his temporary arrest in September this year over fracas at his Kiharu Constituency.
