There is an increasing rate of colon cancer cases especially in young adults globally.
This has seen thousands of people lose their lives to this cruel cancer type but why is it becoming too rampant?
1. Rise of ulcers
Numerous Kenyans are suffering ulcers and not only that of the stomach wall but also that of the bowel specially known as ulcerative colitis. This disease causes inflammation and sores in the innermost lining of the intestines. Such people have higher risks of developing this type of cancer hence the rise in cases.
2. People are ignoring healthy diets while others cant afford it
Another main reason why colon cancer is on the rise is the issue of diet. Most people ignore living on healthy diets by going for processed foods that spark colon cancer growth in most cases.
Additionally, there are people living below poverty level and can't afford healthy and highly nutritive meals. It should be understood that diet plays a key role in colon cancer.
3. People have become to lazy to keep their bodies active
An inactive body harbors hundreds of illnesses including those of the heart which can be too fatal. According to Dr. Rebecca Siegel of the American Cancer Society, active lifestyle can help reverse the trend of colon cancer rise.
In this generation, a bigger population doesn't care about keeping the body active hence encouraging illnesses of this type.
