Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has reiterated that the calls for the country to go for a referendum will not derail development more particularly in his county.
On Sunday, Ongwae speaking when he joined the church faithfully at Nyamira Central PAG church during the official opening of their newly built sanctuary appealed to elected leaders to stop talking too much about the referendum and forget to deliver
"In Kisii County development projects will go on as planned despite the calls for the country to go on a referendum. I confirm my commitment to meet the campaign promises I made to the people of Kisii County during the 2017 polls," said Ongwae.
He warned his political rivals against spreading propaganda arguing that he will not listen to critics who have nothing to do for the people of Kisii.
The county boss challenged Kisii residents to ensure they are counted in the upcoming census slated for August 24 2019.
"For the national and county government to plan well in resources allocation, people should not boycott the census exercise. I urge the people of Kisii County to ensure they are counted so that the governments can plan accordingly in the next ten years," he stated
