The Okango's comments come at a moment when the president has been lamenting lately and has repeatedly lashed out at leaders for allegedly engaging in petty politics instead of service delivery.

Okango said that the President feels threatened having realized that he is under siege from, most likely his deputy William Ruto, who is turning the region against him.

Speaking on Saturday, he said that Uhuru is uncomfortable with the fact that the politicians seem to be rebelling against him, and is trying to hit back, hoping to regain control of the region.

"Uhuru is shocked at how these leaders are defying him. In politics, you must come out when your bedroom is being intruded (Rais akiangalia jinsi hawa viongozi walivyomuasi anashangaa. Kwa sababu katika siasa ukiona bedroom yako inaingiliwa unajitokeza waziwazi)," he said on Radio Jambo.

He added that Uhuru is also unhappy as its the same group he expected to hold his hand as he works towards delivering in his promises, which is now turning against him.

According to Okango, Uhuru also had a lot of expectations on the group on matters development and has been taken aback by its decision to concentrate on early politics.

"He is irked that despite having alot of hope in them, the leaders have chosen to roam across the country (anakasirika kwa sababu ako na matarajio makubwa sana kwao, lakini wao wameamua kizurura)," he added.

Majority of area politicians have been crisscrossing the nation in the company of the DP, endorsing his 2022 presidential bid, despite Uhuru's warnings against such.

Speaking in Mang'u, Kiambu on Thursday, Uhuru warned the group against a continuation of the same, telling them that he is watching every of their steps.
