Chief Justice David Maraga on Friday eulogised fallen Appellate Court Judge Otieno Odek as a man with a clear mind.
Maraga made the remarks during Odek's burial ceremony in Siaya County.
The judge was found dead in his apartment in Kisumu ealier in the month, with a postmortem conducted on his body indicating that he died as a result of a blood clot in one of his legs.
His burial ceremony was held in Memba Village in Rarieda, a farewell function that was also attended by top political leaders including ODM leader Raila Odinga and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
Maraga eulogised the deceased as a bright man who was always able to solve complex matters and simplify them.
"Odek had a rare clarity of the mind and would break complex matters and make them simple without the risk of deduction," he said.
He also termed him a hardworking man who has only his efforts to thank for his success as a judge.
Maraga also remembered the late Odek for his formulation of the judicial policy, during his (Odek) days as the Judicial Training Institute head.
"We were impressed by the impeccable manner with which he organised judiciary training at the institute,” added Maraga.
