Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was among prominent politicians who attended the traditional wedding ceremony of Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru and city lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo on Saturday.

Raila later on in the evening took to Twitter where he wished the two a happy life.

"Was happy to join guests at the colorful traditional wedding ceremony of Lawyer @kamothowaiganjoand Governor @AnneWaiguru in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County. We wish them all the best and may the years ahead be filled with happiness,” he tweeted.

Earlier on during the day, photos of Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta dancing to the traditional songs while at the wedding went viral.

Other prominent leaders who also attended the wedding included; Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Homa Bay Woman Rep Gladys Wanga and former Meru Woman Rep Florence Kajuju, Sports CS Amina Mohamed, Transport CS James Macharia, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho and Senate Minority Leader and Senator of Siaya County James Orengo.

The event which was heavily guarded took place at Kamugumo Primary School in Ngariama Ward, Gichugu Constituency.

The couple together with a good number of the guests had dressed in African attires. Waiganjo and Waiguru had organized a traditional wedding ceremony popularly known as ‘ngurario’.
