Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, who also doubles up as the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly, joined Balambala residents for a fundraiser on Saturday.
In a Facebook post, the outspoken legislator said that the fundraiser was aimed at raising funds for Madrassas in the area.
"Joined residents of Qone Sub Location, JarJara Ward, Balambala Constituency in a fundraiser for the construction of Madarasa classrooms for the children of the area, " he wrote.
Duale said that he had helped bring about development projects in the Balambala sub-county alongside area MP Abdikadir Ahmed.
During the fundraiser, Duale urged residents to come out in their numbers for the upcoming census.
"Urged resident to come out in large numbers for the coming census and faulted the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) for allocating only 56 Positions for conducting the census Balambala constituency with over 6300 sq Kms. Census numbers will be used by policymakers for resource allocation and political representation, " he added.
The Leader of Majority promised that the area would be connected to the national grid in order to improve electricity connectivity in the area.
He also promised to ensure, through collaboration with the national government, that Qone Primary School is renovated with the view of encouraging pastoral communities to take their children to school.
