Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga has made changes to his cabinet, in a move that he says is aimed at bettering service delivery to citizens of the county.

In the changes announced on Wednesday, Tourism County Executive Alice Odhiambo moved to Agriculture while Charles Ogada is will take over the Tourism docket.

Trade and Enterprises CEC Jaoko Oburu was moved to Roads ministry. Bernard Mboha will now take over Trade and Enterprise ministry. Dismas Wakla moves to the ministry of Governance from Lands ministry.

His position has been given to Adrian Ouma who initially held the ministry of Water and Environment. Governance and Administration CEC George Rubiik takes over the Water docket.

The changes were confirmed by Acting County Secretary Joseph Ogutu who announced that they take immediate effect.

"These are normal changes in every government and is not punitive. The changes take effect immediately," Ogutu was quoted by the Standard.

"This is in order to move them as close as possible to their areas of professional experience owing to the wide nature of the governance structure in the county," read a statement from the County Communication Directorate.

This becomes Rasanga's first cabinet reorganization since he secured his second and last term after the 2017 elections.

The county boss is in office courtesy of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket.
