Speaking at the St Anthony Catholic Church in Malindi where he joined worshipers for Sunday mass, President Kenyatta asked Kenyans to tolerate each other in the quest for a united nation.

He said unity is crucial in the achievement of the Big Four Agenda, adding that each Kenyan has a role to play as far as economic development is concerned, and therefore the need to work as a team.

“The President warned against divisions and negative ethnicity saying the days of dividing Kenyans along tribal lines are long gone. He urged Kenyans to love one another and to continue living with each other in peace and harmony,” State House tweeted.

The President said unless Kenyan embrace the unity of purpose, Kenya is destined to fail in the matters of development.

During the tour, the president affirmed his support for the handshake, and vowed to continue working with opposition chief Railla Odinga.

He said through the handshake, the government is at peace and ready to achieve its goals.
