Deputy President William Ruto on Monday visited the family of the late football legend Joe Kadenge following his demise.

The second in command said that the government is ready to offer any support to the family during this moment of trial. 

He eulogised the deceased a great footballer who left a huge mark in the history of this country. 

Ruto said that the footballer had an immense contribution towards the country during his active years. 

The DP said that the country owes Kadenge a lot as Kenyans continue to pay their tribute to him following his death.

“Joe Kadenge was a great sportsman and respected footballer. He made significant contribution to the development of football in Kenya and for that, we owe him a lot,” he said.

Ruto was accompanied by Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruyoit and Starehe MP Charles Njagua. 

 President Uhuru Kenyatta and Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga have also sent their messages of condolence to the family of the deceased. 

Uhuru said that the death of the legend is a big loss to the country. 

The burial arrangements of the deceased are underway as leaders continue to mourn the football figure
