A section of area leaders, including Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula have claimed that they have not been invited.

But the MP on Thursday dismissed the claims, maintaining that all area leaders have been invited to the Western Kenya region Building Bridhes Initiative (BBI) consultative forum.

"We were all invited to come listen to the BBI report and its points. People should come to the rally and listen," he said.

He added that despite being held in Western Kenya, the meeting should not be viewed as a Luhya factor.

According to Odanga, the function will be held for the benefit of the entire country and not a single ethnic community.

"The meeting on Saturday at Bukhungu Stadium is not only for Luhyas but for all Kenyans," he added.

Already, allies of Mudavadi and Wetangula and members of the ruling Jubilee Party have declared that they will not be attending the function, and are planning their own.

They have since identified the Nabongo Grounds in Mumias as their venue, vowing to proceed and hold their meeting despite a police ban that was issued on Wednesday.
