Speaking while handing over the gadgets to Red Cross Secretary-General Aisha Mohamed in Eldoret town on Saturday, Philips Africa CEO Jasper Westerink said the gadgets will help in dealing with heart failure complications.

“Through the initiative 'Back to Rythm' we have donated 25 (ADE) gadgets to Red Cross for Sh10 million to help Kenyans in case there is heart failure or heart stops pumping,” Westerink said.

He said the 'Back to Rhythm' initiative also aims at driving heart health awareness by doing the cardiac screening.

“The gadget is easier to use since once open it will give you instructions step by step on what to do until the patient recovers,” the Philips CEO said.

He, however, urged Kenyans to always do exercises such as running and cycling as these will help prevent lifestyle diseases such as heart attack among others.

Aisha thanked the Philips Foundation and promised to put the gadgets into good use by helping Kenyans in need all over the country.
