The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Disputes Resolution Tribunal has ruled that Footballer Donald Mariga is a duly registered voter.
The ruling, which was delivered by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, paves way for Mariga to contest for the Kibra seat.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has congratulated Mariga following the landmark ruling by IEBC tribunal.
He said that his win at the IEBC is a clear indicator that Jubilee is destined to clinch the seat.
“On the Mariga’s goal earlier ruled out for offside, the referee after detailed analysis of the VAR’s register has concluded that it was a perfect goal.
"Play resumes with the opponents destabilized, Mariga’s team reenergized &their fans are ecstatic. Game on&May the best team win!” he tweeted.

The Kibra seat fell vacant after the demise of Ken Okoth.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) fronted his brother Imran Okoth for the position after highly-contested nomination.
Before the setback at the IEBC, Mariga had affirmed that he was the right candidate for the seat.
He had also denied claims that he is Deputy President William Ruto's project.
The legend said he wants to serve the people of Kibra and his selfish interest.
