President Uhuru Kenyatta has launched the construction of a road in Naivasha, Nakuru county.

The road will cost Sh1.8 billion.

Uhuru flagged off the start of the construction that will see the Naivasha to Njabini road upgraded to the bitumen standard.

According to a tweet by State House on Friday, the road is expected to be completed by 2022 when the head of state is expected to hand over the instruments of presidential power after the expiry of his two-term presidency.

The road will run for 32 kilometres.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta today launched the construction of Shs 1.8 billion Naivasha to Njabini road. The upgrading of the 32 kilometre earth road to bitumen standard is expected to be complete by August 2022," State House Kenya wrote on Twitter

"The President reiterated that projects being implemented by his government are aimed at improving the lives of Kenyans. He assured dairy farmers that his Government through the ministry of agriculture is doing everything possible to ensure good prices for their milk," State House wrote in another tweet.
