Blogger Robert Alai has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta has been campaigning for Deputy President Willia Ruto without the knowledge of Kenyans.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Alai said that Uhuru created enmity between him and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho only to make him more powerful at the end of the day.
He went to opine the recent twist of events in the Jubilee party shows that Ruto is indeed a force to reckon with.
He noted that the second in command is likely to rise above the storm the same way Joho did to clinch the seat of the presidency when that time comes.
Alai noted that the energy Uhuru and ODM Leader Raila Amolo Odinga are putting in the fight to end graft, which seems to target Ruto is a blessing in disguise
“Uhuru Kenyatta helped the re-election of Hassan Joho by playing enemy to him. I guess that Uhuru is also helping campaign for Ruto by playing enemy to him. In the end, the loser will be the usual handshake,” he tweeted.
It remains unclear whether the President will stand with Ruto before the next general elections. The entry of Raila into the equation complicated matters for Ruto.
