Eldoret Kipchoge Stadium and 64 stadia will be complete and ready for use in the next two years.

According to Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago, both the Ministry of Sports and his government have renewed efforts on the completion of the two stadiums.

“We have had a discussion with the Ministry of Sports on the stadium and they say they can now be able to complete the facilities. They are now in a position to use resources from the sports fund to finish the stadiums,” said governor Mandago.

Mandago who spoke to the press during the Tuskys 10 Kilometer Run in Eldoret town on Sunday said his government has allocated resources for reconstruction and modernization of the 64 stadia.

“The Eldoret 64 Stadium designs are ready and the partner World Bank to give nod in support then the tenders will be advertised. We aim to have a state of art stadium that will be used by our athletes during their practising,” the County boss added.

He reiterated that his administration has allocated Sh 250 million as a starter for 64 Stadium works.

The Governor also welcomed the successful bid and award for Eldoret to host the 2020 National Olympic Trials noting that they are ready for it.
