Consequently, the county assembly has called for the dissolution of all the management boards in the facilities, after four members revealed such in their wards, reported the Nation on Saturday.

Newton Kariuki, MCA for Masuria, said that the board of Kathanje Health Center is being chaired by a long-dead man, whose tenure was suspiciously renewed in 2018.

Kariuki added that the board has also been purportedly holding meetings all along, which have all been chaired by the same person.

A number of other ward representatives observed that boards have been in existence in their wards long before the completion of the hospitals they are alleged to be serving.

Minority Leader Lenny Masters who doubles up as the Kimabere MCA said that Ntharawe Dispensary already has a board yet the hospital is non-operational.

Similar claims were raised by Masuria MCA Ngari Mbaka about the Gikiiro Dispensary which he says has had a board since December 14, 2018, a year before it began operations in February 2019.

Kyeni North MCA Patrick Mukavi said that his ward has a hospital whose board member was recently gazetted, several years after his death.
