It has been confirmed that Embakasi East Member of Impairment Babu Owino will be charged with attempted murder on a club DJ, Felix Orinda.
Director of Criminal Investigations' (DCI) George Kinoti has said that the lawmaker will be charged with attempted murder, Nation reports.
"We will charge him with attempted murder. It is apparent that he wanted to kill the man,” Kinoti said as quoted.
Police report seen by Nation says Owino shot the club DJ on the neck before he was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
“He drew his pistol and shot the DJ in the neck. The victim was rushed to Nairobi Hospital in serious condition by the management of the club,” the report reads in part.
Babu was on Friday morning arrested for allegedly involving in a shooting incident at a Nairobi's night club, B Club, which is located in Kilimani along Galana Road.
"@DCI_Kenya Detectives based at Kilimani have today arrested Hon Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino, Member of Parliament for Embakasi East following a shooting incident at B Club located along Galana Road within Kilimani. The MP is in lawful custody as further investigations continue," DCI said in a tweet.
The club DJ, Felix Orinda, is popularly known by his stage name as DJ Evolve.
