Celebrated Kenyan Disk Jockey DJ Joe Mfalme has revealed the highest pay he ever received in a single show.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, DJ Joe Mfalme said he received Sh250,000 after he was hired to entertain at the United States 144th Military anniversary, which was held here in Kenya.
He said he only stayed on his deck for three hours to earn the figure. He, however, noted that, getting such like amount only happens on rare occasions, once in a while if you put it that way.
"The highest I have ever received is Ksh250,000 and that was for three hours. Making such an amount is not so regular, that comes around the New Year's eve or extremely high-end events," said DJ Joe Mfalme, as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.
He also revealed that he has taken his deejaying skills abroad, in the US, but the payments are not that much better to what one gets in Kenya.
"I have done tours in the US and they do not pay as much. This is because the events are organised by Kenyan promoters and are largely made of Kenyan audiences," he noted.
DJ Joe Mfalme grew up with career goals of becoming a pilot.
He studied at the Moi Forces Academy where he hoped to join the Air Force as a pilot, but could not make it due to a number of obstacles he faced in life, including not having enough 'kickbacks'.
