The Cabinet Secretary for environment Keriako Tobiko is set to visit Moi University main campus.
According to the Student leader in charge of Co-curriculum Rony Alex who spoke exclusively to Hivisasa, the Cabinet Secretary will lead a tree planting activity at the Kesses based institution.
"The Cabinet Secretary will be visiting us today. Some of the activities that he will oversee is planting trees together with the students. this will be a major achievement for us as an institution since one of our main aim is to increase the plantation coverage in the school," Rony Alex stated.
He went ahead to invite all students at the main campus to join the cabinet secretary in tree planting that is expected to take place in the afternoon.
"On behalf of the Moi University Students Organization, I hereby welcome all students to come and participate in this great step of tree planting that will make us get closer to our goal of conserving and taking care of the environment," Rony Alex added.
This comes only a month after the Students led by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) club planted trees at the institution during the World Environment Day which was also attended by World Miss University Africa Betty Muzarika and members of the Red Cross Moi University chapter.
