Sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have embarked on a probe into an incident in which a man was caught on camera assaulting a female guard.
The DCI on Tuesday confirmed that investigations are underway, adding that the police will soon catch up with the suspect in the case.
The man, who was only identified as Justin, is seen assaulting the guard at the Komarock Phase 5A at around 4:30 pm, Citizen Digital reports.
The CCTV footage of the incident went viral before prompting the DCI to swing into action.
The detectives described the incident as unfortunate and warned the general public against the same.
“We are already narrowing down on the perpetrator. Meanwhile, the lady security officer has been called upon to make a formal report in pursuit of justice. We greatly condemn such violence against anyone in the course of their duty,” read DCI's statement.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday.
In the video, a man is seen opening the gate even after the guard seemed to oppose the same.
The man resolves to assault the guard after she attempts to close the gate to deny him access to the place. He follows the woman in broad daylight and continues to assault him.
The female guard tries to run away without retaliate but the man continues to attack.
Two persons, a man, and woman appear from nowhere and rescue the guard.
The man then enters the vehicle and speeds off from the scene of the incident.
