Besieged Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri now says President Uhuru Kenyatta scolded him in presence of his children and wife.
On Tuesday, a furious Uhuru accused Ngunjiri of undermining him, insisting that the MP has no moral authority to abuse him.
Uhuru, who made a series of stopovers in Bahati, asked Ngunjiri to step aside if he's unable to work for the people.
"There is one man who has made it a habit to insult me every day. I decided to keep quiet and observe him until the day I would come to Bahati. I am here to find out whether it is you (residents) who send him to hurl insults at me," said Uhuru, as quoted by Standard.
But on Wednesday, the MP said he was shocked with the president's utterances, adding that it happened right near his gate.
According to him, he has never abused the head of state, only insisting that they differ in opinions.
"I was quite shocked because he attacked me at my gate where my children and my wife and closest people even the people of Bahati were there," he said, during an interview with NTV.
"I was shocked with the words he was using. He never said the words I use to abuse him. All I do is to differ in opinions. We were all elected and I have to speak," he added.
