The commentator said the blame should instead be heaped on the ruling Jubilee Party, the political outfit on whose ticket the embattled county boss secured the seat.

He opined that Nairobi's problems began the moment Jubilee party leadership held Sonko's hand, and handed him to voters, who proceeded to elect.

"Nairobi did not get into trouble when Sonko was elected governor, Nairobi got into trouble when Jubilee as a political party gave him the nomination papers," he said during KTN's Inside Politics show on Sunday.

He accused Jubilee of failing Nairobians, arguing that it was the party's role to ensure it hands the nomination papers to the best candidate.

"Its up to the parties to engage in a process where they tell us who is supposed to run for a particular seat. But Jubilee told us that this gentleman is going to he a perfect leader for Nairobi, we will allow him limited space to do his politics and then the government will be running the show," he added.

In a bid to solve the crisis the county has landed into after a Nairobi court barred Sonko from accessing his offices, Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) have reportedly resolved to impeach him.

This is with consideration that operations are likely to come to halt at City Hall, since Sonko has been operating without a deputy since 2018.
