Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has weighed in on claims that Deputy President William Ruto, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen threatened Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.
Without making further comments the senator posted the remark which elicited mixed reactions among social media users with some criticizing him for his recent encounters in Kibra.
The remarks come after the second term governor recorded a statement over the alleged threats to his life. He said that he had met the trio at State House during a function before they threatened him. He argued that the second in command held his hand and threatened to teach him a bitter lesson for frustrating him.
In a letter addressed to the Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, Mutua said that he is scared that something bad could happen to him. He went on to ask Kenyans to pray for him during this moment of trial.
“I am putting this forth before Kenyans so that, if anything unusual happens to me or members of my family or my associates, the three can be held accountable. I have reported this matter to Kilimani Police Station under OB No. 50/16/12/2019,” he said.
The claims of the Maendeleo Chap Chap leader have caused a political storm in the country.
