The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report will be translated to Kiswahili, in order to ensure that most Kenyans can read it, and form their own opinion, Ambassador Martin Kimani, who was the joint Secretary to the BBI task-force has said.
Speaking during a panel discussion on NTV’s Presspass show on Monday night hosted by Mark Masai, Ambassador Kimani said the process of translating the report has already started.
“People are asking actually is this available in Swahili?... What should people expect in the days to come?” Mark asked the Ambassador.
“I think Mark that is a fair point. And in fact, we have sent it to a translator and they are going through it now and they are translating it in Kiswahili. Kenyans should expect that,” responded Ambassador Kimani.
The report continues to dominate political discussions across the country, since it was publicised at the Bomas of Kenya, on Wednesday last week.
After collecting views from Kenyans in all the 47 counties, members of the BBI task-force came up with a raft of recommendations among them that Cabinet Secretaries be renamed Cabinet Ministers and that public officers should not be in business with government.
The team also recommended that wealth declaration forms should be made public including a written narrative of how wealth above Sh50 million was acquired.
