Murang'a County leaders on Friday held a consultative meeting at Kangari Town to deliberate on the current state of security within the region.

Making comments on Facebook after the meeting, Murang'a Woman Member to the National Assembly Sabina Wanjiru Chege said that they held discussions on how to improve the security of their people both at the county and regional level.

"We held very candid and cordial discussions on how to improve the security of our people not only in Murang'a County but also at the regional level," she posted.

Present were Central Regional Commissioner Wilfred Nyagwanga, Murang'a County Commissioner Mohammed Barre, Kigumo MP Ruth Wangari Mwaniki, Kangari ward MCA Kahoro, Kigumo Subcounty DCC Margaret Mbugua, entire regional administration and county security commanders, Kigumo matatu SACCOs and area residents.

At the event, the lawmaker confirmed illegal brews, narcotics drugs and gambling machines that were nabbed by the security team burnt.

She vowed to work closely with the security officers to improve the security of Muranga residents. Apparently her aim is to ensure residents ease their mobility and doing business peacefully.

"We shall continue working closely with the security officers to improve the security of our people so that we can ease their mobility, ease of doing business and living peacefully without fear of attacks from criminals," she added.
