Locals in Kapkeet village, Moiben Sub County were on Wednesday left in shock after a mother of five, Beatrice Kemboi was stabbed to death by two women.
According to Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Johnston Ipara, the two women identified as Percaline Kipchumba and Janet Chepkinyor accused Beatrice, 31, of having extramarital affair with one of the suspect’s husbands.
It is alleged that Janet after getting wind that her husband was having an illicit relationship with the deceased, she plotted with her fellow neighbour Percaline on how to ‘teach a lesson’ Beatrice, which they jointly executed.
“I want to confirm that the two committed the crime and that they were arrested and now under police custody in Kapsoya Police post,” said the police boss on Wednesday.
The two suspects are expected to be arraigned in court to be charged with murder as soon as the investigations are over.
“We are holding the suspects for further interrogation about the killing of a woman for us to know what happened and why they did it,” said Ipara.
The husband to the deceased Philip Kemboi admitted that there have been allegations going rounds in the village that his wife was having love affairs with Janet’s husband, something that he said had not proved.
The body of the deceased was taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) morgue.
