Budding gospel artist Audrey Chibole alias Audrianna is dead.
Lilian Munyendo, mother to the 22-year-old, confirmed her demise saying that she had stage four liver cancer.
She died on Tuesday night at Nairobi Women’s Hospital.
While recalling her daughter's sickness, Munyendo said she took the Music and Kiswahili student at Kenyatta University to Kakamega County Referral Hospital after complaining of chest pains two months ago. She was attended to by a bone specialist.
“I realised that her stomach was swelling and further tests revealed that she had an enlarged liver and severely damaged lungs. They also discovered a solid mass in her stomach, which they said was a cyst and it was removed,” she narrated as quoted by K24.
The 'Niko Sawa' singer was moved to the facility last week Thursday after her condition worsened. She was diagnosed with Stage Four Liver Cancer.
“She was put on oxygen for the better part of Tuesday and in the afternoon as her condition deteriorated, she was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit where she died,” Lilian said.
Her demise adds to the growing numbers of Kenyans dying from cancer-related complications.
Another artist, Danger Chacha, also died on Friday and the family says cancer is the cause of his death.
